Area Attractions on St. George Island
It’s very clear what the main attraction is on St. George Island--22 miles of GORGEOUS beaches! The fastest route to the beach from the St. George Inn is a quick walk just beyond the Cape St. George Lighthouse to a boardwalk access with pavilions, showers, bathrooms, and a playground area with a basketball/pickleball court. To the east and west of the St. George Inn are many other beach accesses and boardwalks that will take you to the beach, and there is even a state park on the east end of the island with miles of undeveloped pristine beaches and trails.
If you want to add paddleboards, golf carts, or bicycles to your island adventure or an art class on a drizzly afternoon, several rental companies and stores on the island can help you. If the beaches aren't enough, fishing charters and an island boat taxi could take you out into the water.
No matter what you are looking for from walking directions, beach supply rentals, to fishing charters, our friendly staff will be happy to help you find whatever you need to enhance your island adventure.
